Tertiary conditioned in a 53 gallon Jack Daniels barrel

Although often a hoppy beer, the English Barleywine places less emphasis on hop character than the American Barleywine and features English hops. English versions can be darker, maltier, fruitier, and feature richer specialty malt flavors than American Barleywines.

This Barleywine was aged in a Jack Daniels 53 gallon oak barrel for 4 months of tertiary conditioning. This added some oak and vanilla flavors and really rounded out the rough edges.

Brewed behind the origional Homebrew Depot with lots of brewers (we may have had 10 other brewers contribute to the barrell project).
