Wondering what to do in the Twin Cities while your s/o attends the “1001 Things to do With Your Mash Paddle” seminar? Jump on the Alewives Bus for some great shopping in Excelsior, MN!

Excelsior, Minnesota was founded in the 1850s as a vacation destination on Lake Minnetonka located just 20 miles West of Downtown Minneapolis. It existed for nearly a century prior to that as a small trading village surrounded by lush farmland. Today the city of Excelsior works hard to maintain its historical identity while continually renewing elements of downtown. The Water Street district located near Excelsior Bay is home to many fine restaurants as well as numerous shops and antique stores. Located at the north end of town on the water front is the 14 acre Excelsior Commons park and recreation area with a swimming beach, playground, tennis courts, and picnic area.

This year’s Ale Wives Excursion to the Lake begins with a bus ride from the hotel to beautiful downtown Excelsior. Spend your day relaxing in the city, while just a stroll from the lake, great places to eat, excellent shopping, spas, and the farmers market…all on your own schedule.

There are also a few fantastic scheduled tours you can take to see beautiful Lake Minnetonka and Excelsior:
